Lisandro Martinez and Alexis Mac Allister have both lashed out at Argentinas critics who revelled in their World Cup final defeat to Spain. The defending champions were beaten 1-0 in New Jersey on Sunday and produced an appalling display that was low on quality and high on gamesmanship before losing their discipline completely at the final whistle with several members of their playing and coaching staff lashing out at the Spaniards as they celebrated.Their defeat was met with relief and joy from most neutrals but Manchester United defender Martinez, who had to come off just before half-time due to injury, claims their detractors should give Argentina more credit.Writing on Instagram, he said: It is heartbreaking not to have brought home the trophy we all wanted, yet I am filled with immense pride pride in this jersey, my team-mates, the coaching staff, the management, the medical team, the cooks, the kit men, and everyone involved in making this whole journey run as smoothly as possible.
