Mark Cuban and his relationship with the Dallas Mavericks current ownership has taken another turn, with the former majority owner accusing the franchise of shutting him out of a major business opportunity tied to the teams proposed new arena development.Cuban alleges Mavericks governor Patrick Dumont has engaged in adversarial business practices relating to the clubs planned move from downtown Dallas to a new arena site roughly 10 miles north of the city, according to a report from The Dallas Morning News.The dispute centers around the Mavericks plans to build a new arena on approximately 104 acres in north Dallas, with the franchise expected to leave the American Airlines Center when its lease expires in 2031.In a legal filing, Cuban argues his companies were supposed to be involved in the development project.Cuban said his businesses were contractually entitled to participate in the move to the new site, which the filing describes as a unique investment opportunity, according to The Dallas Morning News.The filing is the latest chapter in the growing divide between Cuban and the franchise he sold in 2023 to the families of Miriam Adelson and Patrick Dumont. Although Cuban retained a 27 percent ownership stake, he has previously said he believed he would continue overseeing basketball operations after the sale.Instead, basketball decisions were handed to former general manager Nico Harrison.
