France head into half-time drawing 0-0 with Senegal in their opening World Cup clash, but Les Bleus are lucky not to be behind. As one of the tournament favourites, Didier Deschamps men were expected to start fast, but instead they have been met by a well-drilled and dangerous Senegal side. The former AFON champions who had their title stripped after chaos in the final with Morocco sat back and absorbed plenty of pressure from their opponents, but looked dangerous on the counter-attack.Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson looked particularly sharp, and had one of the best chances of the game midway through the first half.Racing away on the left-hand side, the former Bayern Munich loanee lashed a low effort towards goal, hitting the post, before the ball bounced off Mike Maignan in the net and behind for a corner. And that was not the only chance for Senegal. Just before half-time, Crystal Palaces Ismaila Sarr had a golden opportunity to open the scoring. After some good work from Sadio Mane to drive down the left-hand side, the former Liverpool man delivered a teasing ball into the box. It made its way through several blue shirts, leaving Sarr with an empty net to tap into. But the forward could only blaze his strike over the bar. Another warning sign for France, who will need to step things up if they are to keep themselves in this contest.Follow the rest of the match right here on 101GreatGoals.
