Raspadori scored the first penalty of the shootout, but Motta incredibly saved the next four Atalanta spot-kicks to send Lazio through despite Maurizio Sarris men missing their first two penalties. Brais Mendez hit the post with a 14th-minute penalty for Sociedad, who then fell behind when Jon Gorrotxategi headed into his own net. Getafe held on to prevail despite failing to register a shot on target, and leapfrog both Sociedad and Celta Vigo, who lost 1-0 to leaders Barcelona, into sixth place. They and Celta are five points behind Real Betis, who occupy LaLigas potential fifth Champions League qualification spot.
