Missing WrestleMania 42 hit Nikki Bella harder than most fans realized, especially because she believes it may have been her final chance to compete at WrestleMania in the United States. Nikki Bella and Brie Bella were originally scheduled to challenge for the WWE Womens Tag Team Titles at WrestleMania 42. But Nikki suffered a serious ankle injury before the show, forcing her out of the match. Brie instead teamed with the returning Paige, and the duo went on to win the titles, with Nikki still getting involved by interfering with a crutch during the finish. Speaking on The Nikki & Brie Show, Nikki opened up about how difficult it was to sit out the match after working toward that moment for more than a year. She explained that with WrestleMania heading to Saudi Arabia next year and her expected retirement timeline approaching, this years show may have been her last WrestleMania moment in the United States. Nikki also made it clear that she had spent the past year and a half doing everything asked of her without complaint, even stepping back at times to help elevate others on the roster. She said the toughest part was knowing how much work she put in to reach that moment, only to have it taken away by injury right before WrestleMania. Nikki is currently expected to be out of action for six to eight weeks after tearing, spraining, and fracturing her ankle. Despite the setback, her focus is now on healing properly and protecting her long-term health rather than rushing back too soon. There was even discussion about whether Brie Bella should pull out of the match after Nikkis injury, but the chance to team with Paige during her WWE return was seen as too special to pass up, especially given how close the Bellas are to her personally. Nikkis comments make it clear that WrestleMania 42 wasnt just another match opportunity it was a milestone she had been working toward for over a year, making the injury even harder to accept. Do you think Nikki Bella will find a way to get one more major WrestleMania moment before retiring, or was WrestleMania 42 her last real shot at that stage? Let us know what you think.
