Kevin Knight didnt get a phone call or a heads-up about his new WrestleCon main event spot he found out the same way fans did. On April 11, WrestleCon announced that the Mark Hitchcock Memorial Supershow main event had been changed. The originally planned Leon Slater vs. Ricochet match was canceled after TNA pulled Slater due to partner conflicts. A new main event was quickly put together featuring The Demand (Ricochet, Bishop Kaun, & Toa Liona) vs. JetSpeed (Mike Bailey & Kevin Knight) and Michael Oku. During the AEW Dynasty press conference, Knight was asked when he learned about the switch. His answer made it clear there was no early notice behind the scenes. While talking about the situation, Knight said he learned about the match when everyone else did once it was posted publicly. The timing made the moment even bigger for Knight. He had just won the AEW TNT Championship at AEW Dynasty, and now hes stepping into a major main event after learning about it online instead of through direct communication. Finding out about a major match through social media isnt something most wrestlers would expect, but Knight made it clear he stays ready no matter how the opportunity comes together.
