TNAs latest talent restriction may be reaching a lot farther than WrestleMania weekendand now MJF vs. Nic Nemeth is right in the middle of it. After reports centered on Moose being pulled from a WrestleMania weekend appearance, a new update from Dave Meltzer makes it clear the bigger story is TNA trying to stop its talent from working AEW names on independent shows. Meltzer reported on April 8 that TNA is blocking talent from facing AEW wrestlers in those settings, and that includes an attempt to stop the scheduled MJF vs. Nic Nemeth match at Create-A-Pros May 1 event. He added that, as of now, the match is still expected to happen. Theres also another important detail backing up the idea that something bigger is happening behind the scenes. Sean Ross Sapp reported that TNA President Carlos Silva said some TNA wrestlers have been pulled from shows due to partner conflicts, which strongly suggests this isnt random and isnt limited to one event. For now, MJF vs. Nic Nemeth is still on. But the fact that there was reportedly an attempt to shut it down says a lot about where TNA stands right now when it comes to talent mixing it up with AEW names outside company-controlled environments. If that approach continues, this wont stop with one match. It could affect multiple indie cards going forward, especially any event trying to book TNA and AEW talent against each other. And in this case, the attempted block may have made MJF vs. Nemeth even hotter than it already was. So if TNA really tried to stop MJF vs. Nic Nemeth from happening, do you think theyre protecting their brand or just making the match feel even bigger? Drop your thoughts below and let us know.
