Douglas then shifted to a broader critique of the wrestling business, arguing that companies like AEW repeat the same strategies while expecting different outcomes. He suggested that AEW ultimately has to decide what kind of company it wants to be within the wrestling landscape. Douglas made it clear that he has always approached the wrestling business with a competitive mindset and has never been satisfied settling for second place. That mindset is why he would still be open to working with AEW if the company genuinely wants the experience and perspective he believes he can bring. Douglas comments come at a time when AEW continues to face criticism from some veterans about its long-term direction and creative structure.
