Ronda Rouseys surprise appearance at AEW Revolution didnt sit well with a number of fans and many of them rushed to social media to make their feelings known. Almost immediately after the segment aired on the March 15 pay-per-view from Crypto.com Arena, fans began posting angry reactions on Twitter, criticizing AEW for bringing the former UFC champion into the storyline. One fan referenced Ronda Rousey denying the Sandy Hook incident in the past and compared the situation to how AEW fired Trey Miguel over his past remarks. Another fan took things further and criticized AEWs decision to involve Rousey in a storyline with Toni Storm while also talking about Ronda Rousey denying the Sandy Hook shooting. Some fans didnt hold back at all, bluntly saying they didnt want Rousey anywhere near AEW programming: F** off, shes a piece of s***, we dont want her in AEW. Another fan argued that the surprise appearance ended up overshadowing Marina Shafir instead of helping the storyline: No one wants Ronda in AEW. She can just leave right away and just been a distraction tonight for Marina. One more fan mocked the moment entirely while referencing the Sandy Hook controversy: What a surprise appearance from an absolutely legendary school shooter denier! The backlash comes after Rousey made a surprise appearance during AEW Revolution shortly after Toni Storm defeated Marina Shafir. Storm was celebrating inside the ring when Rousey suddenly showed up and confronted the AEW Womens Champion face-to-face. Security quickly rushed in to separate them, but the situation escalated moments later when Shafir attacked Storm from behind. Shafir and Rousey then left through the crowd while Storm was left laid out in the ring. AEW President Tony Khan later addressed the surprise during the Revolution post-show media scrum, explaining that the appearance came from Rouseys real-life friendship with Shafir. Whether the backlash online changes AEWs future plans remains to be seen, but the reaction shows that Rouseys surprise appearance at Revolution immediately became one of the most talked-about moments of the night.
