Despite the seriousness of the injury, Edwards said he has decided to take time away from wrestling in order to focus on recovering and regaining his health. Edwards also addressed the outpouring of support he has received since the incident, explaining that while he appreciates the concern, he is financially stable and does not need donations. Instead, Edwards encouraged fellow wrestlers and industry professionals to focus on improving safety awareness and emergency response training within the wrestling business. He also made it clear that he does not blame anyone involved in the incident and is simply focused on recovering. Edwards added that he had been under observation in the hospital following the accident and was awaiting additional testing to determine when he could return home.
