Despite backlash online, WWE has doubled down on Roman Reigns Royal Rumble victoryranking it as the No. 1 moment on their 25 Best Moments list from this years event. Liv Morgans long-awaited Rumble win, which many fans viewed as a standout story, was placed second.
WWEs ranking decision comes just after Reigns win at Riyadh Season Stadium drew a mixed response from fans. On YouTube, the official video of Reigns celebrating his win has racked up 234,000 viewsbut the approval ratio tells a different story. With 10.8K likes and 9.1K dislikes, the video is sitting at a low 54.5% like-to-dislike ratioan unusually polarizing reception for a Royal Rumble winner.
Still, WWE made their stance clear: Romans moment was the biggest of the night. This marked Reigns first match since November 29, when he was on the losing side of the WarGames match, and his first victory in a WWE ring since August 31, when he beat Bronson Reed at Clash in Paris. It wasnt his first Royal Rumble winbut it was still placed ahead of Morgans, who had been runner-up in the previous two Rumbles before finally scoring the victory this year.
Liv Morgans win, however, still ranked higher than AJ Styles final WWE match, which speaks to the significance of her momentjust not enough for WWE to call it No. 1.
With Romans win being both divisive and prioritized by WWE, it raises an all-too-familiar question for fans: Is this another case of the company forcing a moment that the audience hasnt embraced?
