MJF isnt backing down after a fan publicly slammed his recent AEW promos for crossing the lineand the AEW World Champion made it crystal clear hes not interested in playing it safe.
On February 1, 2026, a fan on Twitter fired off a scathing critique of MJFs recent mic work, writing: Whilst youre here stop calling your opponents N*zis and child r*pists for cheap heat and drop the title to the Protostar, cheers
Instead of ignoring it, MJF clapped back with a defiantand very on-brandresponse, making it clear that he finds those promos funny and he refuses to be boring and PG like other wrestlers.
The tweet comes on the heels of two polarizing promos that sparked backstage and public backlash. First was his P. Diddy line aimed at Swerve Strickland during the December 17 Dynamite tapings in the U.K.which Fightful Select confirmed wasnt cleared with other talent beforehand and wasnt well-received by several people behind the scenes.
Then, on the January 28 episode of Dynamite, MJF took aim at Brody King with another eyebrow-raising insult, saying: Never in my life have I met a liberal man who looks more like a Nazi.
While AEW is known for its creative freedom and unscripted promos, MJFs latest barbs have reignited the debate over what crosses the lineeven in a promotion built on edgier storytelling.
Is MJF just pushing the envelope like always, or is it time for AEW to rein him in? Let us know your thoughts below.
