Helmet supplier to Walmart refuses to conduct recall after CPSC says lids don't meet standards

CPSC issues safety warning.

WASHINGTON (BRAIN) The Consumer Product Safety Commission issued a warning to stop using BeePrincess bike helmets because they don't meet mandatory safety standards.

About 2,200 helmets affected by the warningviolate the impact attenuation, retention system, positional stability, certification, and labeling requirements according to the agency.The CPSCurges consumers to cut the straps and dispose of them.

A Notice of Violation was issued to seller changshalayuanshangmaoyouxiangongsi of China, which is operating under the BeePrincess brand. BeePrincess has not agreed to a recall or offered a remedy to consumers.

The helmets were sold at Walmart.com from July 2024 through November 2025 for between $15 and $31. They also might have been sold on other platforms and by other third-party sellers.

The helmets are in one size, fitting a head circumference of 22 inches to 24 inches. They are red and black with silver stripes and have gray padding. They have a removable visor, black straps with a silver reflective pattern in the center, a black-and-red buckle with a gray chin strap, and a black plastic knob at the back to adjust the fit. CPSC is aware that the firm also sold helmets in black/white and gray.
