There are a lot of things going in WWE, and the Womens Tag Team Title picture is certainly getting a big spotlight. That was the case tonight in a big way.
WWE Saturday Nights Main Event on January 24, 2026, will be held at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Fans may have been escaping the freezing climate outside, but things were red-hot in the arena.
Rhea Ripley and IYO SKY defended the WWE Womens Tag Team Championship against Liv Morgan and Roxanne Perez. This was the second match of the night, but the first real one, after Cody Rhodes versus Jacob Fatu ended without starting.
This match had fans going from the start. Both teams worked incredibly hard to get fans behind them, and clinch the victory. There were a lot of near falls along the way as both teams fought hard to walk out of the arena as champions.
Liv Morgan and Roxanne Perez worked well together, but Rhea Ripley and IYO Sky didnt give it up so easily. At one point, IYO looked like she was going to let Perez beat her with a Pop Rocks, but she kicked out at a photo finish moment as Rhea couldnt get to her in time.
Then Rhea Ripley nailed a Rip Tide on Roxanne Perez and IYO Sky nailed an Over The Moonsault. Suddenly, Raquel Rodriguez stopped the pinfall, and she took out both champions as the referee was down. Suddenly, Stephanie Vaquer returned to take Raquel out.
Stephanie Vaquer didnt have her walking boot on as she took out Raquel Rodriguez. This was some payback on Vaquers part as she dealt with Rodriguez. At that time, IYO Sky and Rhea Ripley were able to secure the win and retain their titles.
Kiana James and Giulia already claimed the #1 contender spot for the next shot at the Womens Tag Team Titles during this weeks SmackDown. Only time will tell how long it is before we see another title change.
