Before WWE NXT went live on The CW on January 20, 2026, two surprise matches were taped for WWEs developmental series WWE LFGand fans who caught it saw some interesting names pop up.
In one bout, Nikkita Lyons returned to action and defeated Zena Sterling. In the other, Apollo Crews picked up a win over Elijah Holyfield, son of boxing legend Evander Holyfield.
What makes this even more intriguing is who WWE brought in. While the company hasnt formally confirmed their participation in the series yet, both Lyons and Crews have made a name for themselves in WWE before. This move follows a pattern seen in previous seasons, where WWE featured talent as guest competitors or mentors.
As of this writing, WWE has not officially announced when the next season of WWE LFG will drop. However, with matches already being filmed, you can expect updates soon.
