CJ Perry just confirmed what many longtime WWE fans suspectedher love story with Miro (Rusev) didnt just go viral, it killed her on-screen romance with Dolph Ziggler.
Speaking to Ring the Belle, Perry admitted that it was TMZs leak of her real-life engagement photo with Miro that abruptly ended her soap opera-style WWE storyline with Ziggler and Summer Rae back in 2015.
At the time, Perry and Miro were feuding on screenseparated as part of a dramatic love triangle that had her aligned with Ziggler and Miro paired with Summer Rae. But once the engagement photo hit the internet, WWE creative pulled the plug.
And according to Perry, the decision came straight from the topbecause Vince McMahon confused TMZ with CNN and thought the situation had become world news.
Perry also mentioned that TMZ has been all over her personal life for yearsciting not only the engagement leak but even more recent stories, including her previous separation from Miro. Looking back, Perry said the situation taught her to stay flexible in the chaos of wrestling and celebrity life.
