R-Truth may have returned to WWE back in June 2025, but now hes finally opening up about the real deal behind his comebackand it turns out his return wasnt just for a quick nostalgia pop.
In a January 14, 2026 interview with TV Insider, R-Truth revealed that he signed a four-year contract with a three-year option, calling the entire process surreal and crediting WWE President Nick Khan and Paul Triple H Levesque for orchestrating it behind the scenes.
The conversation was featured in Season 2 of WWE Unreal, the Netflix docuseries that gives fans an inside look at the lives and careers of top superstars. One major moment shows R-Truth reflecting on the contract talks that ultimately led to his return at Money in the Banka moment he now sees as bigger than just business.
The comments directly address a June 2025 Bodyslam.net report by Cory Hayes, who originally broke the news that R-Truth had signed not a normal active working talent dealbut one intended to give him one true final run. PWInsider had also reported the deal came together just days before Money in the Bank aired.
But now, R-Truth is setting the record straight. This is no short-term farewell tourits a major long-term commitment, with WWE giving the veteran performer a platform for much more than a final act.
Do you think R-Truth deserves this extended WWE run? Or should it have been a shorter sendoff? Sound off in the comments and let us know your take on his seven-year contract reveal.
