The National Wrestling Alliance has officially locked in Colby Corino with a new multi-year contract, securing one of its most passionate young stars for the long haul.
A former NWA World Junior Heavyweight Champion, Corinos journey has been filled with setbacks, grit, and redemption. The second-generation star was forced to step away from the ring following a brutal injury that required emergency spinal fusion surgery on July 31, 2025. Surgeons fused his fractured C5-C7 vertebrae using a bone graft from his hip a career-threatening procedure that would sideline most indefinitely.
Against all odds, Corino made a surprise return on the December 9 broadcast of NWA Powerrr Live on Roku Sports. Wearing a neck brace, he delivered an emotional speech that struck a chord with fans:
Corino didnt stop there. While no official return date was revealed, he made it clear that hes gunning for the top prize.
Corino, son of former NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion Steve Corino, began his NWA run in 2021. He claimed the NWA World Junior Heavyweight Title in 2023 by defeating Kerry Morton who also recently re-signed with the company. Corino later won the Jax Dane Memorial Tournament, which earned him a Worlds Title shot. Before his injury, he challenged Thom Latimer and Rhino in a triple-threat at the 2025 Crockett Cup Finals at the legendary 2300 Arena.
Now with his recovery ahead of schedule and a new deal in place, The Prince of Old School is on track to finish what he started. Hes scheduled to appear on February 21 when NWA returns to Tampas WEDU PBS Studios for a double taping of NWA Powerrr Live. Tickets are available now at NWALiveEvents.com.
NWA Powerrr Live airs Tuesdays at 8PM ET on Roku Sports, with same-night replays at 11PM ET/8PM PT and full episodes on-demand.
