Boyd Cycling has a change in leadership; Nicole Johnson becomes CEO

Published January 7, 2026

GREENVILLE, S.C. (BRAIN) Co-founder Nicole Johnson is now CEO of Boyd Cycling, succeeding Boyd Johnson, who will concentrate on engineering and product development.

The company said in a news release that the transition comes as Boyd Cycling is accelerating domestic manufacturing of carbon fiber and alloy rims. Nicole Johnson's promotion has been years in the making, the brand said, with it aligning with the expansion of stateside production.

"This is a pivotal time for our industry," she said. "Bringing production to the U.S. means faster solutions for our partners and more stability in the supply chain. I'm energized by the momentum we've built and excited to lead Boyd Cycling into its next chapter."

Boyd Cycling's U.S. manufacturing foundation was established in 2022 with the launch of Olive Manufacturing Group, enabling aluminum rim production domestically. That production began in 2023. In 2024, Boyd Cycling acquired Munich Composites, a German carbon rim manufacturer, and secured control of carbon fiber automation, patents, and intellectual property.

The company said it is primed for expansion after 16 years of operation, expecting vertical integration, global market growth, and OEM manufacturing partnerships in the future.
