WWE Raw celebrated their one-year anniversary with Netflix on January 5, 2026 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. The night had a special Stranger Things theme for the first RAW of 2026, and they had plenty of action.
The WWE World Heavyweight Championship was on the line as CM Punk took on Bron Breakker. This match had several weeks worth of build, and Breakker wanted to start the year on top of the RAW brand with The Vision behind him.
This match received a big fight feel, thanks to the ring introductions. Then they got to action, with Bron Breakker getting the advantage early on thanks to his size advantage. They cut a commercial break after that.
Bron Breakker took control of the match eventually, as CM Punk sold every ounce of the attack in expert fashion. Punk tried for a GTS a couple of times, but Breakker got out of it. Any attempt by Punk was immediately met by a brutal resistance from the Badass.They took a second commercial break as Punk continued selling Breakkers relentless attack.
There were a few near falls as CM Punk refused to let Bron Breakker pin him. On the other hand, Breakker wasnt about to give up without a fight. Punk was able to come back with a flurry of signature offense, but Breakker kept popping right back up.
CM Punk nailed an elbow and signaled for the GTS. Then Paul Heyman got on the apron to distract him. The Vision ran down after that, but Punk fought them off, still the stable surrounded the ring as the official was taken out with an accidental push.
Austin Theory nailed a stomp on CM Punk, but he kicked out at two. Bronson Reed got upset and he cleared off the announce table. Then Pentas music hit and he appeared in the crowd alongside Dragon Lee and Rey Mysterio to jump in and take out The Vision with an all-out brawl.
Bron Breakker stalked CM Punk, but he missed a spear and took a shoulder to the post. Then Punk nailed a GTS for a near fall. Then Bron kicked out after a piledriver on the challenger. Eventually, Breakker returned fire with a gutbuster and a thunderous clothesline for a two count. Bron tried for a GTS, but Punk reversed and locked on a crossface.
This match carried on, with both competitors giving their all. Then, in the end, Paul Heyman got on the apron, and he took a punch from Punk. Breakker went outside, where he blasted Punk with a right hand as he went for a dive. Then Breakker nailed a dive on Punk that broke the announce table.
When they got back into the ring, Punk reversed a spear with a knee. Then Punk nailed a GTS and got the pinfall to retain the World Title in Brooklyn.
