Will Ospreay might be All Elite, but hes not finished with New Japan Pro-Wrestling especially when it comes to unfinished business with Callum Newman.
At NJPW New Year Dash, tensions ran high after United Empire (Jake Lee, Callum Newman, HENARE & Great-O-Khan) scored a win in eight-man tag action. What followed was a dramatic reunion, as Ospreay made a surprise appearance and addressed the faction he once led and the man who feels left behind.
Ospreay and Newman shared an emotional moment in the ring. Ospreay admitted that his exit from NJPW took a toll on the United Empire and said he wants to make things right. Although Newman appeared to accept the gesture with a reluctant hug, he refused to flash the United Empire hand signal and later grabbed a chair before being stopped by HENARE and O-Khan.
Now, Ospreay has made it clear that he will return to NJPW but only after settling things in AEW.
Its a rare moment of clarity from Ospreay, who underwent neck surgery in 2025 and is now eyeing a dual path between AEW and NJPW. His comments suggest he sees Newman as more than just a rising star but someone he wants to invest in as the future of the United Empire.
Will Ospreays return shake up the New Japan landscape again? And is Callum Newman ready to lead or turn against his mentor for good? Drop your thoughts in the comments below.
