AEW made a last-minute change just ahead of the January 3, 2026 edition of Collisionand its a big one. Scorpio Sky has been pulled from tonights lineup and will no longer face Shelton Benjamin as originally planned.
According to Tony Khan on social media, Scorpio Sky is not medically cleared to compete. With Collision already underway in Arlington, Texas, Dante Martin has been confirmed as the replacement, stepping up to face Benjamin in singles action.
This unexpected switch completely changes the dynamic of the match. Shelton Benjamin had been preparing to face a grounded, technical veteran in Skya perfect warm-up for his upcoming AEW Continental Championship Eliminator against Jon Moxley on Dynamite. Now, hell have to adjust to Dante Martins high-flying, fast-paced offense with little time to prepare.
For Martin, its a high-profile opportunity to prove himself against one of the most experienced competitors in AEW. For Benjamin, its now a completely different kind of challenge that could affect his momentum heading into Dynamite.
