Its been seven years since Konnor and Viktor of The Ascension were released by WWE, but the door might not be closed just yet.
Speaking with Rewind Recap Relive, Konnor opened up about possibly returning to WWE, and this time, he made it crystal clear: it has to be their way.
Konnor didnt just hype the possibility he put over his longtime partner Viktor as one of the most underrated in-ring minds to ever lace up boots.
Viktor added that their WWE run felt cursed in many ways, with backstage politics and missed opportunities derailing what could have been a dominant tag team legacy.
This comes after past comments from Viktor where he recalled WWEs failed attempt to get heat on them early in their main roster debut, despite the crowd at Madison Square Garden giving them a massive pop.
Viktor pointed out what he saw as a disconnect between NXT and the main rostermainly because Vince McMahon didnt care about the black-and-gold brand.
Now, years later, The Ascension say theyre willing to return but only if the terms are right. That means control, the right people, and the right paycheck. Otherwise, theyre staying far away from the politics that derailed them the first time.
