Jordynne Graces surprise backstage appearance on the January 2, 2026 episode of WWE SmackDown wasnt just for show it was the start of her full-time move to the main roster.
According to Fightful Select, WWE sources have confirmed that Graces appearance on SmackDown is effectively her official main roster call-up, signaling the end of her short run in NXT and the beginning of a new chapter on Friday nights.
Grace, who made a seamless transition to WWE after leaving TNA Wrestling in 2025, had already made waves in NXT. But now shes stepping into a bigger spotlight, and WWE wasted no time putting her in the mix.
During the first hour of SmackDown, shortly after a stacked 8-woman tag team match, Grace was seen backstage with SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis. The two discussed her future, with Aldis making it clear he wanted her on the blue brand. The segment ended with no deal made on-screen but now we know the decision has been made behind the scenes.
Chelsea Green interrupted the moment, inserting herself into the conversation and possibly teasing a future confrontation with Grace. Given that Green is the reigning Womens United States Champion, dont be surprised if that match happens sooner rather than later.
With WWE SmackDown now running a three-hour format, the timing couldnt be better for a new powerhouse to shake up the womens division.
