Lorenzo Musetti has gone through the most brilliant season of his young career and has no intention of stopping there.
The young Italian ace has finally understood how to use all his talent continuously and has achieved excellent results especially on his beloved red clay, although he has not been able to win a title by extending his fast (he has not lifted a trophy for over three years).
At the same time, no one can doubt the maturation that the talent from Carrara has had and next year no one can afford to underestimate him. Lorenzo is not only a dangerous player on the slower surfaces, but he has also become competitive on the hard courts as evidenced by the quarterfinals reached at the US Open at the end of the summer.

Musetti participated in the Nitto ATP Finals in Turin for the first time in his career, benefiting from the forfeit of Novak Djokovic who missed this event for the second year in a row. The Italian star could have qualified directly, but he was surprised by the vehement rise of Felix Auger-Aliassime who achieved sensational results in the latter part of 2025 (triumphing in Brussels and reaching the final at the Paris Masters 1000).
Musetti is very confident
During the off-season, Musetti announced his decision to add an experienced coach like Jos Perlas to his team (the latter is already collaborating with the Italian and will join Simone Tartarini next year).
Interviewed by Gill Gross during the latest edition of his podcast, Lorenzo - who will start his 2026 with the Hong Kong tournament - confessed that he is working for the definitive consecration at the highest level: "I have had the opportunity to face Carlos Alcaraz several times already, while with Jannik Sinner there was the challenge in New York in which I don't always have my best tennis.

I am working to get closer to their level and my new coach will give me a lot of useful advice. Jos has enormous experience and I am sure he will contribute to my growth."
