Jannik Sinner has completed another truly incredible season, in which he has overcome the many obstacles that have appeared along the way.
The Italian ace could have lost his certainties on several occasions, in particular after the three-month ban imposed on him by WADA or after the final Roland Garros, but he proved to be a true champion once again and his results certified it.
Despite having to miss four Masters 1000 between February and May, the 24-year-old from Sesto Pusteria lifted six trophies in 2025 and did not go far from the goal of ending the year at the top of the ATP rankings. The four-time Grand Slam champion had again overtaken Carlos Alcaraz after the Paris Masters 1000, but it was not enough for him to win the Nitto ATP Finals in Turin for the second year in a row to retain the lead.

He is currently only 550 points away from his huge rival and will try to overtake immediately after the Australian Open (where he lifted the trophy in both 2024 and 2025).
Sinner never disappoints
Despite his excellent results on the tennis court, Jannik faced several criticisms when he communicated his decision to skip the Davis Cup Finals in Bologna. The world number 2 expressed the need to recharge his batteries and start preparing for the new season, which will be full of ambitious goals once again.
In a long interview with 'Libero', FITP president Angelo Binaghi wanted to defend the former world number 1: "There has been a monstrous increase in people who have approached our sport thanks to him. Jannik loves to talk on the tennis court and silences everyone there. We have known him since he was a child both on and off the pitch and I can say that he deserves to receive a statue in his honor."

After completing the first part of his preparation in Dubai, the Italian star resumed practice in Monte Carlo ahead of the start of the 2026 season. His first official tournament will be the Australian Open, which begins on Sunday 18 January at Melbourne Park.
