Jon Moxley may have delivered one of AEWs most passionate promos to date after winning the Continental Classic at Worlds End, but not everyone was impressedespecially WWE personality Peter Rosenberg.
Taking to Twitter during the show, Rosenberg threw shade at Moxleys emotionally charged speech, questioning whether it belonged on the card at all.
The shot didnt go unanswered. AEWs Ricochetwho made his jump from WWEclapped back almost instantly with a blunt response, Peter. Not like this.
Rosenbergs comment referred to the lengthy and intense post-match promo Moxley delivered after defeating Kazuchika Okada in a blood-soaked final to win the tournament. Instead of heading straight to the back, Moxley grabbed the mic and launched into a fired-up speech that felt more like a rallying cry for AEW than a typical wrestling promo.
According to Wrestling Observer Radios Dave Meltzer, this promo wasnt just off-the-cuffit was a strategic move. Meltzer claimed AEW is using Moxley to reset the companys tone after a rocky 2023 and 2024 plagued by backstage drama and declining momentum.
But while fans in the arena responded with energy and support, Rosenbergs reaction shows that not everyone saw it the same way. Will more AEW or WWE personalities jump into the conversation? Is Rosenberg out of lineor did Moxleys moment go too far? Let us know where you stand in the comments.
