There were two huge moments that characterized Jannik Sinner's season.
The first was the three-month ban that was imposed on him by WADA between February and May, which could have had very negative repercussions on the mind of the Italian ace. He was forced to stay away from the professional tour and could not practice in any affiliated club, as well as having to miss four Masters 1000 and other tournaments.
It wasn't easy for the former world No.1 to manage that period, but the support of his family and team was crucial to allow him to move forward with his head held high. The 24-year-old from Sesto Pusteria never stopped playing his best tennis and reached the final in Rome immediately after his return, playing another exceptional season that he came close to finishing at the top of the ATP rankings.

Another moment that could have negatively affected his 2025 was the mocking loss against his huge rival Carlos Alcaraz in the Roland Garros final. Jannik was ahead two sets to nil and had three match points in a row, but he was unable to complete the feat and had to surrender in five sets at the end of the longest final in the history of the French Slam. Despite that atrocious disappointment, he recharged his batteries and triumphed at the Wimbledon Championships for the first time a few weeks later.

In a recent interview with 'Fanpage', Italian star Martina Trevisan highlighted Sinner's mental strength: "He is in an amplified position because of his status. What surprised me the most was his reaction to the defeat at Roland Garros, in which he squandered a considerable lead, including three match points. I think he's done some really incredible mental work to chase away the ghosts and be ready for Wimbledon, which starts just a few weeks later."
Jannik became the first Italian player ever to lift the trophy at Church Road. In addition to this, he won the Nitto ATP Finals in Turin for the second time in a row.
