WWE isnt wasting any time addressing one of the most talked-about botched finishes on NXT TV. Thea Hails unexpected title win over Blake Monroe is getting an immediate rematchand its officially going down at NXT New Years Evil 2026.

During the December 17 tapings at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida, officials announced that Thea Hail will defend her newly won NXT Womens North American Championship at the first major NXT event of the year.

This decision didnt come out of nowhere. On the December 16 episode of WWE NXT on The CW Network, Hail defeated Monroe for the titlebut it wasnt supposed to happen. A botched finish turned the outcome into chaos, and WWE made a swift call to correct it.

WWE is hoping to restore orderor double down on the unexpected. The Hail-Monroe championship rematch now joins an already loaded card. Also set for January 6:
