Nick Kyrgios remains unfazed about the criticism surrounding his match against Aryna Sabalenka as the Australian says he "likes things that are outside of the box."

On December 28th, Kyrgios and Sabalenka will square off at the Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai. While the majority of the public is excited, there is also one side that fears the match could damage women's tennis.

When Sabalenka was asked directly about it, the WTA world No. 1 shrugged it off by saying that she was in "a win-win situation." Also, the four-time Grand Slam champion stated her match against Kyrgios could only "get women's tennis to a higher level."

The Australian tennis player has also heard and read about what some have been claiming. And while the 2022 Wimbledon finalist admits that he feels the nerves going into the match, he is also very excited.

I think my chances are really high. Im very confident in my ability. Its going to be fun, but also Im a bit nervous. I like doing things that are outside the box. Honestly, not many males in my position would have done that and taken the opportunity. I dont know whats going to happen, well see," the Australian said at the World Tennis League in Bengaluru.
