Emma Raducanu is set to play two events leading up to the Australian Open after signing up for the WTA 250 tournament in Hobart.

Raducanu, who will enter the 2026 season ranked at No. 29 in the world, has no previous appearances in Hobart. When the British tennis player goes to Tasmania, she will be one of the highest-seeded players as Elise Mertens - who is ranked at No. 20 and defends the Hobart title - is the only player on the entry list ranked higher than the Briton.

The Hobart International is scheduled to take place between January 12-17.

Raducanu set for a full schedule in Australia

Previously, Raducanu confirmed that she would start her 2026 season by representing Great Britain at the United Cup between January 02-11.

"I'm honored to be able to make my United Cup debut in January. Being able to play for Team GB with my team-mates is a unique opportunity and week to enjoy. It's great to be able to experience a new format on the tour, represent my country and spend a couple extra weeks in Australia," the 23-year-old said in a statement.

The British side will kick off its United Cup run on January 4th when they meet Japan. That day, Raducanu will take on Naomi Osaka.

Barring a setback or an injury, this will be the first time in Raducanu's career that she manages to play two tournaments leading up to the Australian Open.
