Jim Cornette just gave Mick Foley a standing ovation for cutting ties with WWE and he wants the world to know it.
After WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley made headlines for cutting ties with WWE over its continued relationship with Donald Trump, wrestling legend Jim Cornette took to Twitter to applaud the move, calling Foley a man with backbone and morals.
The tweet comes just hours after Foley announced his departure from WWE a decision he took due to Trumps reaction to the tragic murder of filmmaker Rob Reiner and his wife Michele. Trump posted a tone-deaf Truth Social rant that appeared to mock Reiners death, claiming it was the result of Trump Derangement Syndrome.
The post drew outrage across the entertainment world, including from musician Jack White, who called Trump a disgusting, vile, egomaniac.
The Hardcore Legend would then reposted Whites statement on Instagram and questioned his peers in WWE for standing next to Donald Trump.
Then, on Monday, December 16, Foley made it official cutting ties with WWE due to their association with the U.S. President, as he simply felt Trumps post about Rob Reiners death was the last straw for him.
Foley also revealed he wont renew his WWE Legends contract when it expires in June 2026, making it clear he has no regrets about his decision.
Cornettes support adds even more weight to Foleys exit especially considering the two men havent always agreed publicly. But on this issue, Cornette didnt hesitate to back Foley and salute the move.
Mick Foley didnt just voice his outrage he followed through with a hard-hitting decision. And now, with legends like Jim Cornette speaking up, the impact of his exit may echo far beyond WWEs locker room.
