WWE fans are still angry after John Cenas emotional farewell at Saturday Nights Main Event and now, GUNTHER is finally speaking out after being the man to make Cena tap out in his final match.
The Ring General took to Instagram to post a short message that seemed aimed directly at critics of WWEs decision to have Cena lose clean. He simply declared that pro wrestling is better than sports entertainment.
This comes after Cenas final match ended in controversy, as fans inside Capital One Arena erupted into chants of bulls*** and booed relentlessly when the 17-time world champ tapped out to a sleeper hold.
While many fans were upset, GUNTHERs message simply doubled down on his stance positioning himself as a wrestler who represents the sports actual roots, not the entertainment-first style Cena lived by.
Whether fans agree with the booking or not, the message from WWEs top brass and GUNTHER himself is clear: this was about doing business the right way. Love him or hate him, the Ring Generals message draws a hard line between eras and with Cena now gone, GUNTHER just might be the man leading WWEs next era.
