Jack Sock is not a big admirer of Jelena Ostapenko's personality as the former world No. 8 described the Latvian tennis player as "a little whiny."

Ostapenko, who was 20 years old when she became a Grand Slam champion at the 2017 French Open, has a long history of on-court antics and meltdowns - from getting into it with the rival, the chair umpire and the crowd. The 28-year-old even complained about the electronic line calling on a few occasions, suggesting that it was slow and questioning its accuracy.

Ostapenko may not be a stranger to controversial stuff, but her case from this year's US Open drew her the most criticism and scrutiny. After losing to Taylor Townsend in the US Open second round, the Latvian accused her rival of having "no class nor education." The world No. 21 apologized afterwards and insisted that she was referring to "tennis etiquette" during a tense moment with Townsend.

On the latest episode of the Nothing Major Show, the hosts - Sock, Sam Querrey, Jack Sock and Steve Johnson - played a little game and placed some players on their "naughty list."

Sock finds Ostapenko'whiny'

I'm going to go with Jelena Ostapenko. Sometimes she gets into it on the court with some people like kind of just a little whiny," 2017 Paris Masters champion Sock said.

Querrey, a 2018 Wimbledon semifinalist, named Yulia Putintseva and specifically brought up the Kazakh's ball kid incident from the 2024 US Open.

"Its Yulia Putintseva. She always just seems to be in the in like controversy as the as our folks across the pond would say. Yeah, she's like, you know, she's got the staring at the ball kid. She just, you don't do anything to the ball people out there, ball kids, ball adults. Like treat those people. You got to treat them fully with respect. You can't dog those people while you're out on the court. So, I don't like that," Querrey said.

Sock agreed with Querrey before also suggesting that Putintseva often tries to throw off her opponents with some dirty tricks.
