A rising WWE developmental talent just got a new identityand it could be the first step toward his official NXT debut.
According to BodySlam.net, Anthony Luke will no longer be competing under his real name. The former San Diego State defensive end is now going by the in-ring name Kam Hendrix, a moniker that immediately evokes comparisons to music icon Jimi Hendrix, though the exact inspiration hasnt been revealed by WWE.
Luke, who joined WWE after tryouts ahead of SummerSlam 2023, has already been getting reps in the ring. He made his in-ring debut at a non-televised NXT live event in April 2024 and was featured in both seasons of WWEs LFG series, which documents the lives of developmental talent.
His first match under the Kam Hendrix name took place at a house show on November 22. He teamed up with Brooks Jensen and Lexis King to score a win over Dante Chen, Shiloh Hill, and Drake Morreaux.
Outside of the ring, Luke is known to fans for another reasonhes the real-life fianc of WWE Womens Intercontinental Champion Maxxine Dupri. That connection alone has fueled interest in when and how WWE will eventually bring Hendrix to television.
For now, Kam Hendrix remains on the house show circuit, but with a new name and growing momentum, it likely wont be long before he makes his official NXT TV debut.
