Carlos Alcaraz has added another prestigious milestone to a season already lined with historic achievements. World no. 1 has been named the 2025 winner of the Stefan Edberg Sportsmanship Award, earning the honor for the second time within three years.

The recognition places the El Palmar native among an elite group. Carlos is only the eighth player to win the award multiple times, joining Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal on that list.

Federer and Nadal ruled one of tennis' most respected categories, having won everyStefanEdberg Sportsmanship Award between 2004 and 2021.

Alcaraz's fair-play credentials were visible all year. However, one moment at Roland Garros stood above the rest. During his fourth-round clash against Ben Shelton, the defending champion surrendereda point that had initially been awarded to him.

Carlos informed the umpire that he had lost control of his racket during the winning volley, awarding the point to his rival. The decision surprised the crowd and Shelton himself.

This year'sStefanEdberg Sportsmanship Award carries a special importance. For the first time, the winner was chosen through a vote by the exclusive ATP No. 1 Club, a group of 29 past and present players who stood on the ATP throne.

The former winners, Grigor Dimitrov and Casper Ruud, were also nominated, alongside Felix Auger-Aliassime. Still, Alcaraz's conduct on and off the court separated him from the field.
