JC Mateo isnt just filling space on SmackDownhe signed a legit multi-year contract with WWE, and now we know the numbers behind it.
After leaving New Japan Pro Wrestling, where he was still picking up title wins even after reports surfaced about his WWE move, Mateo arrived on SmackDown and aligned himself with Solo Sikoas MFT faction. WWE gave him the name JC Mateo after signing him, rebranding former NJPW powerhouse Jeff Cobb for their own plans. WWE sources told Fightful Select exactly what kind of deal Mateo agreed to:
Mateo hasnt been loud, but his in-ring presence has said enough. WWE didnt bring him in for a short runthey gave him time to make an impact, and hes already knee-deep in one of the top factions on SmackDown.
