Mercedes Mon walked into AEW Collision on December 6 with something to proveand she made sure everyone got the message.
After successfully defending her TBS Championship against Leila Grey in a hard-hitting bout, Mon didnt stop at the final bell. Instead, she delivered a low blow to AEW Head of Talent Relations Christopher Daniels, who was ringside during the match.
The attack came out of nowhere and had nothing to do with the bout itself, making the moment feel like a calculated and symbolic move by Mon to reassert control after her recent loss at Final Battle. The crowd was stunned as Daniels collapsed from the impact, while Mon strutted to the commentary desk to declare her greatness.
Earlier in the night, Mon had dismissed questions about her loss to Red Velvet and was laser-focused on proving herself against Grey. She dominated much of the match, using vicious offense and ultimately making Grey tap out to her signature submission.
But it was the post-match low blow that changed the tone of the night. With AEW Worlds End approaching and Mon now clearly embracing a more ruthless edge, her message was clearshes not just defending her title, shes taking aim at AEWs authority figures too.
Do you think Mercedes Mon went too far, or is she simply doing what it takes to stay on top in AEW? Let us know what you think in the comments.
