WWE NXT Deadline was the final event of 2025 for the brand. So, they brought a lot to the Boeing Center at Tech Port in San Antonio, Texas. The NXT Title was on the line, so Ricky Starks and Oba Femi left it all in the ring.
Oba Femi wanted the NXT Title back, but there was a problem. Ricky Saints had the championship, and he wasnt about to give it up without a fight. That being said, the two had a lot of heat going into Deadline.
The NXT Title match opened up Deadline, which was very interesting to see. However, the structure of the yearly Deadline premium live events, with a focal point on the Iron Survivor Challenge matches, they can shake things up.
This match had fans going, and Oba Femi took an early advantage. Eventually, Ricky Saints started chopping down the bigger Femi, and then it was time for the former AEW TNT Champion to take control for a bit, as he countered out of a powerful choke from Femi in the process.
The match kept going, and Oba Femi regained control. Ricky Saints didnt get The Ruler keep him down, as he screamed in Femis face in defiance. Then Ricky nailed a few kicks and a running tackle in the corner. Saints walked the tight rope and nailed a hurricanrana before hitting a spear for a close near fall.
After Ricky Saints nailed a dive to the outside, and he took control of the match, they returned to the ring, where Oba Femi kicked out at two. Then Femi scooped Saints up and plowed him to the ground for another near fall. Oba went running and Ricky moved as Oba went into the post, and then Femi took Saints down with a thunderous chop before running into the steps as Ricky moved. Once they returned to the ring, Saint nailed a big Exclamation Point DDT for a near fall.
Oba Femi returned fire with a Fall From Grace for a near fall. Then Saints nailed another Fall From Grace to win the NXT Title once again. This was a shocking win, but now The Ruler is champion once again. Now Oba Femi will face Cody Rhodes at Saturday Nights Main Event.
