Emma Raducanu says she is not the one to "moan" about the tennis calendar as the 23-year-old suggests she is privileged and makes a good money, while there are regular people out there who have to regularly go to their job and comply with whatever they are told to do by their bosses.
As it is usually the case, the complaints about the tennis calendar and the schedule are the loudest late in the year. Recently, Iga Swiatek - one of the biggest names in women's tennis to complain about the schedule - indicated that she plans to miss some mandatory tournaments in 2026. ATP world No. 1 Carlos Alcaraz recently ripped the schedule as "very tight" and stated that "something must be done" about it.
There are numerous other examples. In one of her past interviews, Elena Rybakina warned the WTA that more top players could start pulling off an Ashleigh Barty and retiring at a very young age.

Raducanu, who played a total of 50 matches this year and posted a 28-22 record, doesn't have an issue with the way the tennis calendar is currently structured.

I think thats a challenge. I dont necessarily think its something to complain about because its what we are given. And we are making a great living as well. I mean its not all glamorous. There are definitely times when its very difficult and we are flagging mentally, physically, everything hurts. But at the same time what are we going to do about it?" Raducanu said.
"I am sure there are certain people who go to work and their bosses make them do something, but they have to do it, its their job. If we put up a front that isnt complaining, I think that is a better example to the people watching, trying to get into tennis, the younger people. If they see all the top players moaning about the calendar, I dont think thats necessarily inspiring to look up to.

Meanwhile, Raducanu is slated to play two events in January. The top-ranked British female tennis player will start her 2026 season at the United Cup, before heading to the Australian Open.
