The future of golf is always an interesting topic, and certainly the center of attention is Tiger Woods, a golfer who has been present on golf courses for a long time. Most are wondering if Tiger Woods will play on the PGA Tour Champions and if he will fully return to the golf courses after all the surgeries and pain he has had.
Mike Weir, a golfer who had the opportunity to play with Tiger Woods, is currently part of the PGA Champions series. He feels great on the Senior circuit.
Weir is proud of himself and all the players, believing that despite their age they are still playing at the highest level. However, Weir hopes that Tiger, who will turn 50 this month, will play on the Senior Tour, as it would certainly raise the quality of this competition.

While Weir is aware they may not have the physical strength of the younger players, he believes the skills are still there, as is the work ethic.
The major champions continuing to play, play well [is the most important thing for PGA Tour Champions]. I think guys of your generation, my generation grew up watching and watched us guys and were still playing at a high level, he said, as quoted by The Golfing Gazette.
Theres the little carrot out there that hopefully Tiger plays some. That would be wonderful if he gets out there and gets his competitive juices going again. I would love to see that.
Theres a lot of positivity around the tour. I think anybody who goes and watches sees a really high standard. Our interactions with the pro-ams are wonderful and I think it keeps continuing to grow. And the standard continues to be really high. Its really high quality golf.

We might not be as powerful as the younger guys on the tour and hit it as far, but the skills are there still. And the work ethic is still there from everyone. So I think the skys the limit for the Champions circuit. I think its really going to continue and evolve and get better.
Champions Tour potential
The Senior circuit has real potential, especially if names like Tiger Woods join. In addition to him, several other players who will turn 50 in the near future will have a chance to play on this tour. However, it is clear that the presence of Tiger Woods would certainly be the biggest boost for the PGA Champions series.
