AJ Lee may have submitted Becky Lynch at Survivor Series: WarGames, but fans expecting a full-blown return were left disappointed when she vanished from RAW the very next night. Now we know whats really going on and its not a swerve, its just part of the deal.
In an update, Sean Ross Sapp cleared the air during Fightfuls post-RAW show, addressing why AJ Lee wasnt on TV this week and what her current WWE schedule looks like. Turns out, this wasnt a full-time comeback and never was.
Its not like Survivor Series was her one-off. AJs actually been popping in and out of WWE for the past couple of months, appearing in short bursts. For WarGames, she was involved for about two weeks leading into the match and then stepped back out again.
According to Sapp, theres no backstage drama or creative fallout this is just AJ setting her own pace.
AJ Lees return has already made a splash with fans and delivered one of the most memorable finishes of the night, but dont expect her to be cutting weekly promos just yet. This comeback is more like a series of strategic cameos than a full-on run at least for now.
