Penta has finally opened up about the real reason he and Rey Fnix walked away from AEW and took the leap to WWE and it wasnt about money, fame, or frustration. It was something much deeper.
During an appearance on Mafufas Chronicles, Penta explained that after five years in AEW, both he and his brother felt they had reached a point where they were fully in control of their characters, comfortable backstage, and in a stable position. But that comfort started to feel like a limitation. They wanted something that would push them creatively and competitively in a way AEW no longer could.
Penta explained that the decision wasnt simple, even though outsiders assumed WWE was the obvious next step.
Leaving AEW wasnt a move they took lightly. Penta said the brothers would spend nights in hotels debating the pros and cons of making the jump. For every reason to stay, there was another reason to go and the uncertainty weighed on both of them. Still, one thing never changed: they were going to make the decision together, no matter what.
In the end, the brothers chose to bet on themselves. Penta made his WWE debut on the January 13th episode of Raw, while Rey Fnix arrived on the April 4th edition of SmackDown. Their move wasnt about running away from AEW it was about chasing the next chapter of their careers and pushing their limits at the highest level of the industry.
Penta and Rey Fnixs jump to WWE shows how far wrestlers are willing to go when theyre hungry for growth and ready to challenge themselves. Their story isnt about abandoning AEW its about stepping into something new, risky, and full of potential.
