Jim Ross is one of the most beloved voices in professional wrestling history but behind the scenes, the legendary broadcaster has been fighting battles far more personal than any storyline.
On a recent episode of his Grilling JR podcast, Ross got real about his health struggles over the past two months. According to the Hall of Fame commentator, things got so serious that he wasnt sure hed survive.
Despite his condition, Ross still shows up for the fans. These days, he uses a cane or walker and needs assistance while traveling but he continues to make meet-and-greet appearances because of what they give back to him emotionally.
Ross acknowledged that with his mobility declining, hes unsure how much longer hell be able to keep doing public events.
JR underwent surgery for colon cancer back in May and has since made sporadic appearances on AEW programming, mainly for pay-per-view broadcasts. Even through pain and limited movement, hes never stopped giving back to the fans and the sport he loves. Jim Ross has given his voice, his heart, and his legacy to wrestling for decades and now fans are giving him their support right back.
