Novak Djokovic can be relatively satisfied looking at his results this season, considering that he has lifted two trophies (in Geneva and Athens, respectively) and has become the oldest player ever to reach at least the semifinals in the four Grand Slam tournaments.
The Serbian legend has not fulfilled his dream of adding another Major title to his endless palmars, but he has shown that he can still make a difference in the most prestigious events on the calendar against those opponents other than Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner. These two young champions are in their 'prime' and Nole is perfectly aware that it will be very hard to defeat them in the best of five sets.
The former world No.1 was supposed to participate in the Nitto ATP Finals in Turin as the last official tournament of his 2025, but he decided to skip this event for the second year in a row due to a shoulder injury felt during the Athens ATP 250. That problem didn't stop him from lifting the trophy in the Greek capital, where he beat Italian star Lorenzo Musetti at the end of one of the most thrilling matches of the entire season.

Djokovic is still ambitious
The 38-year-old from Belgrade intends to continue playing at the highest level as long as he has the necessary motivation and there is no doubt that the 2026 edition of the Australian Open will be very important for him, who has always had a special feeling with the Happy Slam (where he boasts ten successes).
During a long interview with 'Tennis365', tennis legend Rennae Stubbs confided that Nole is already focused on the next edition of the AO: "He knows that it could be his last chance to win a Grand Slam title and I am convinced that he will give his best at Melbourne Park. Alcaraz has never gone beyond the quarterfinals in Australia and was eliminated by Novak this year, but we all know how strong Sinner is on that court. It takes a combination of several factors for Djokovic to win another Major.
