World no. 1 controlled the pace on serve and return, facing only one break point and providing three breaks from eight opportunities to emerge at the top in style and remain on the title course.
Carlos provided an incredible pace in the opening set, clinching it 6-2 in 37 minutes after an astonishingpace that left his rival far behind. As Alcaraz explained, everything he wished landed in during the first part of the duel.
