Zack Ryder made his surprise WWE return on the November 14 episode of SmackDown during the John Cena Last Time Is Now tournament, but it didnt take long for someone very close to him to speak out. Chelsea Green, his real-life wife and current WWE Superstar, reacted to the moment on social mediaand her pride was loud and clear.
Shortly after Ryders segment aired, Chelsea posted a photo of herself alongside her husband backstage at SmackDown. In the post, she didnt need many words to capture the energy of the night: What a day to be Zack Ryders wife!
Ryderreal name Matt Cardonahas spent the last five years away from WWE after being released in April 2020. He reinvented himself on the independent scene, shedding the Zack Ryder name and embracing a grittier persona as Matt Cardona. Thats what made his SmackDown return as Zack Ryder so shocking. For one night, he threw it all back to the Woo Woo Woo eraand fans ate it up.
Whether or not this is a one-off appearance remains to be seen, but with Chelsea Green already cemented on the WWE roster and Ryder back on television, its hard not to speculate about what could come next.
