Carlos Alcaraz qualified for the semifinals of the Nitto ATP Finals in Turin with three victories, as well as celebrating the mathematical certainty of ending the year at the top of the ATP rankings ahead of Jannik Sinner. The young Spanish ace wants to end the best season of his career in the best possible way, having already won eight titles and having finally found that consistency that had been his main weakness in the past.
The 22-year-old from Murcia will not end 2025 at the end of the ATP Finals, as he will represent his Spain at the Davis Cup Finals scheduled in Bologna from 18 to 23 November. The six-time Grand Slam champion knows he has a huge chance in this event as well, given that Italy had to suffer the heavy absences of two decisive players such as Jannik Sinner and Lorenzo Musetti. The team led by David Ferrer will make its debut against the Czech Republic, a truly dangerous team that cannot be underestimated.

Alcaraz will not have much rest
After the Davis Cup Finals, the world number 1 will begin to focus on the 2026 edition of the Australian Open. Carlitos hasn't developed a particular feeling for the Happy Slam yet, considering that he has never gone beyond the quarter-finals at Melbourne Park. The first Major of the new season will take place from January 18 to February 1, a week later than usual.
As was already anticipated several months ago, Alcaraz will play a couple of exhibition matches in December (the first against Frances Tiafoe in New Jersey on December 7 and the second against Brazilian star Joao Fonseca in Miami the next day).
This means that the Spanish champion's pre-season will last a total of 25 days and will end on January 7, when he will leave for Seoul to face his huge rival Sinner in an exhibition match set for January 10. Immediately after the exhibition in South Korea, Carlos will travel to Melbourne arriving there a week before the start of the tournament.
