Felix Auger-Aliassime says there are no secrets between him and Alexander Zverev and highlights he knows exactly what he "needs to do" to beat the world No. 3 in their upcoming ATP Finals battle.

When Auger-Aliassime and Zverev take on each other on Friday, it will be their 10th overall. Also, it will be one of the more important matchups between the two since it is a direct battle for the second semifinal spot from their Turin group.

Going into the match, Zverev leads the head-to-head against Auger-Aliassime 6-3. But this year, they have met only once and the eighth-ranked Canadian won 4-6 7-6 (7) 6-4 6-4 in the US Open round-of-16. And ahead of their second meeting of the year, the 25-year-old admits he is happy knowing that their last encounter went his side.

Auger-Aliassime on facing Zverev: He knows what he needs, I know what I need to do

"We played not that long ago. It's obviously better that the match went my way than if it was the other way around. So you step on the court with maybe a little bit more confidence. But let's see how it goes. Obviously we know each other well. We've played since 2019 every year almost, so... Yeah, he knows what he needs to do. I know what I need to do. Let's see who can execute their game the best on Friday," the Canadian said.

This year, Auger-Aliassime is making her second ATP Finals appearance. Three years ago, the Canadian went 1-2 in his debut at the season-ending tournament and failed to make it past the group stage.

On the other side, the German has had great success at the ATP Finals, winning the prestigious season-ending tournament twice so far in his career.

It remains to be seen if Auger-Aliassime can get the job done against Zverev on Friday and secure his maiden trip to the ATP Finals semifinal.
