R-Truths Ron Cena gimmick has become one of the most unexpectedly beloved characters in WWE this yearand now, hes finally revealed where the whole idea came from.
During a new appearance on the Two Man Power Trip podcast, Truth gave a perfectly on-brand answer that only he could deliver. When asked about the origin of Ron Cenathe character he debuted while parodying and honoring John Cena during Cenas farewell runTruth explained it with deadpan absurdity:
The comment came after the host praised the creativity of the gimmick, and Truth, never breaking character, acted like it was the result of actual science. In Truths world, a DNA test is enough to justify matching outfits, mannerisms, and a near-spiritual bond with the 17-time World Champion.
This update comes after Truth previously opened up about how meaningful it was to stand across from Cena during Saturday Nights Main Event. At the time, he reflected on the electric crowd and what felt like a symbolic passing of the torch.
Truth also commented on the idea that Ron Cena keeps Cenas spirit alive even when hes not around:
